FRACTURE

The New Line/Castle Rock film “Fracture,” in which VIVICA made her first cameo appearance in a Hollywood film, was released in the US on Friday April 20, 2007 (April 27 in the UK and Italy; May 9 in France and Belgium; May 10 in Australia, Denmark and Singapore; May 11 in Norway; May 17 in Argentina, Germany; and May 25 in Finland).

Directed by Gregory Hoblit (“Primal Fear”, “Hart’s War”) and produced by Chuck Weinstock (“Where the Money Is”, “Joe Gould’s Secret”), the film is a thriller starring Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling. Hopkins plays a man who shoots his wife and then manipulates the young lawyer, Gosling, who’s been assigned to prosecute him.  The cast also includes Billy Burke, Rosamund Pike and David Straithairn.

The characters played by Gosling and Pike attend a recital by Vivica and she is heard and seen singing the aria “Ombra fedele anch’io” from Riccardo Broschi’s 1730 opera Idaspe an excerpt from which you are now hearing in the background.
