...sang the role of Dr. Lobo Guerrero,	JOHN DUYKERS was seen at the San Diego Opera in The Passion of Jonathan Wade in the 1996 season. His performances have taken him to Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco, Houston Grand Opera, Netherlands Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Los Angeles Music Center Opera, Frankfurt Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, GreaterMiami Opera, Vancouver Opera, and Edmonton Opera, among others. His repertoire encompasses more than 40 roles, including Tannhauser, Tamino (Die Zauberflote), Don Jose, Pinkerton, Shuisky(Boris Godunov), and the Drum Majorin Wozzeck.	the Chief Inquisitor

Mr. Duykers created the role of Mao Tse-Tungfor the world premiere of John Adams' Nixon in China in 1987 at Houston Grand Opera, a performance which was telecast on PBS' Great Performances, for which it won an Emmy. The Nonesuch recording of this opera was awarded a Grammy. In the 1996 season, Mr. Duykers was heard in The Ghosts of Versailles and The Makropoulos Case at Lyric Opera of Chicago and his performance of Sellem in Peter Sellars The Rake's Progress at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris was widely acclaimed.
