with a GIVEAWAY of TICKETS TO DEBORAH VOIGT's ALL-AMERICAN Recital
of Broadway songs and popular music
presented by UCLA Live at Royce Hall, UCLA on January 16, 2008

America's foremost dramatic soprano takes leave of the Germanic repertoire she has become famous for and goes POP for an evening!

DEBORAH VOIGT will perform a crowd pleasing program of Broadway show tunes and popular standards from “The American Songbook” with Tony Award-winning conductor-pianist Ted Sperling leading a combo ensemble.

VOIGT interprets songs by the iconic 20th century songwriters KURT WEILL and JEROME KERN and will also pay tribute to two legends of musical theater: cabaret star BARBARA COOK and JULIE ANDREWS. So, MARK YOUR CALENDAR! You won't want to miss this all-American performance by a top Wagnerian soprano in the prime of her career, who "comes to pop singing naturally," with style, grace and a "devilish sense of humor." It promises to be a most enjoyable evening!
